HOW DOES IT WORK?
The SmartXide Punto CO₂ laser delivers precise pulses of energy that remove a microscopic layer of damaged skin and create tiny, controlled treatment zones. As the skin heals, it produces new collagen and elastin, gradually improving texture, tone and firmness.
CoolPeel uses very short, high-peak-power pulses that work on the upper layers of the skin with minimal heat build-up. It is designed to cause less redness and peeling than traditional ablative CO₂ treatments, so recovery is quicker.
Hot Peel uses deeper fractional settings, reaching further into the skin to address more established lines, crepey texture, sun damage and scarring. It involves more downtime than CoolPeel and suits patients looking for a more intensive treatment who can plan for a longer recovery.

At your consultation, we will recommend the most suitable option for your skin, or a combination of treatments, depending on your individual needs.
TREATMENT AREAS:
CoolPeel: half face, full face, neck, chest and hands.
Hot Peel: half face and full face.
Scar treatment: individual scars, scar areas up to 5 x 5 cm, cheeks and full face.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Suitable for both men and women, CO₂ laser resurfacing can help improve:
- the appearance of acne scars and post-traumatic scars
- stretch marks and age spots
- fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores
- uneven skin texture and tone
It can also be used to remove selected benign skin lesions, such as seborrhoeic keratoses and xanthelasma, following a medical assessment.
CO₂ laser can be combined with other treatments at Atelier as part of a tailored plan, such as Morpheus8 or Sofwave for skin tightening, or IPL for sun spots, lentigines and redness.
A consultation is essential before treatment. Your doctor will assess your skin, medical history and goals, then tailor the treatment strength and plan to you. CO₂ laser isn't suitable for everyone, and we will always advise if another treatment would suit you better.
Improvements continue to develop over 1–3 months as new collagen forms. Individual results vary.
TREATMENT SCHEDULE:
CoolPeel: a course of 3 treatments, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, is recommended. Maintenance sessions can be discussed at your review.
Hot Peel: usually performed as a single treatment. Your doctor will advise whether a further session is appropriate, and when.
Scars: often treated as a course of 3. Spacing depends on the type of scar and will be planned at consultation.
POST-TREATMENT ADVICE:
CoolPeel: what to expect
Day 1: Treatment day Your skin may feel warm and look slightly red, similar to mild sunburn. This is normal. Your therapist will advise on a gentle hydrating serum and which products to avoid while your skin recovers.
Day 2: Redness and swelling Redness usually reduces, but your skin may feel tight or slightly swollen. Dryness is common as the skin begins to regenerate. Keep hydrating, avoid actives such as retinoids and acids, and skip makeup.
Day 3: Dryness and rough texture Your skin will likely begin to peel as old skin cells shed. Keep using gentle, nourishing products and don't exfoliate.
Days 4–5: Noticeable healing Keep your skin moisturised and don't pick or scrub, as this can cause irritation or scarring.
Days 6–7: Skin settling Redness and swelling should reduce significantly, and you will start to notice smoother texture and a more even tone. Gradually reintroduce mild skincare, but avoid strong actives until your skin has fully healed.
Day 8 onwards Improvements in tone and texture continue over the following weeks as new collagen forms.
Hot Peel: what to expect
Hot Peel recovery is longer and more involved. In the first week you can expect redness, swelling and crusting as the skin heals. You will be given a detailed written aftercare plan, and we will see you for a follow-up review.
For all treatments
- Avoid direct sun and wear a high-SPF sunscreen daily to protect the new skin.
- Don't pick, scrub or exfoliate while the skin is healing.
- Contact the clinic if you have any concerns during your recovery.
